Demo Platforms representative of available applications for web site development:
Much is given these days with a web-hosted account, including the ability to add any one of a number of open-source, free, site platforms to build your web site developed by collaborators from around the world. c.labs is experienced with a great number of existing and newly emerging platforms and can assist you with developing an award winning site for your company or personal use. We can also independently install and custom design your ideal web site around any one of these site platforms.
You may wish to combine functionality from individual applications into a robust, versatile web site framework. In this case, c.labs will construct your site from the ground up, incorporating your designs with any of the other proven functionalities these applications provide.
We bring a client’s design alive and also offer maintenance and organization for their site as well. Our developers install, modify, add functionality, design elements, and thoroughly test the site. While compatibility with the latest version of the major browsers is included, older browser version compatibility is available.
Site maintenance after a site is developed is also a major concern. Developing sites from already available Content Management Systems or Frameworks allows immediate site maintenance and upgrades along with the platform’s administrative capabilities for editing or adding site content.
The c.labs site uses CodeIgniter® as a framework because of its efficiency, ease of development, fast execution and small footprint. Since most of the pages for this site remain relatively constant, and those pages that do require constant updating are integrated with MySQL database functionality, maintenance for this site is easy using a text editor and a built-in database table editor.
CodeIgniter also includes a Sessions class allowing for easy development of protected areas. Here at c.labs we use this functionality creating Client logins to retrieve deliverables, preview new sites before release or upload files for development. The versatility and ease of development has made CodeIgniter legendary.

Content can be simple text, photos, music, video, documents, or just about anything you can think of. A major advantage of using a CMS is that it requires almost no technical skill or knowledge to manage. Since the CMS manages all your content, you don’t have to.
Mambo is a business-oriented open source CMS written in the PHP programming language, the world’s most popular programming language for web-based applications. The flexibility of the code and inbuilt ability to extend Mambo make it one of the most powerful content management systems available today. Mambo is the perfect solution for developers and novice users alike who demand a simple yet elegant way to deploy professional websites rapidly.
MiaCMS was created as a fork of the Mambo project, the grandfather of all open source CMS projects. Mambo either serves as the basis for or as an inspiration to most of the CMS systems in use today.
Mambo is quite old at this point. MiaCMS has given new life to the aging platform, but with the advancements in PHP and related frameworks over the last several years, the system is really in need of a full re-architecture building upon the lessons learned over the last 8 years. While still with the Mambo project we announced an effort for a Mambo rewrite on top of the CakePHP framework, but it never really got off the ground due to the political infighting that ultimately required the MiaCMS fork.

- Many of our users love to use the activity modules (such as forums, databases and wikis) to build richly collaborative communities of learning around their subject matter (in the social constructionist tradition), while others prefer to use Moodle as a way to deliver content to students (such as standard SCORM packages) and assess learning using assignments or quizzes.
